In November 2025, the KOFIH Ethiopia Office convened a regional conference on the operationalization of the Humanitarian–Development–Peace (HDP) Nexus in collaboration with WHO Headquarters, WHO EMRO, the EU Delegation to Ethiopia, KOICA Ethiopia, the Ministry of Health of Somalia, and other partners. Building on the discussions and key insights from the conference, the KOFIH Ethiopia Office subsequently published its first Policy Brief. Considering the complex and transboundary nature of crises in the Horn of Africa, the brief proposes an approach to operationalize the HDP Nexus and strengthen regional resilience and stability, with health as a strategic entry point.

To this end, it outlines regionally tailored and integrated health interventions, regional coordination mechanisms, and hybrid and flexible financing approaches. Kindly refer to the attached document for more information.
