KOFIH's overseas emergency relief project is carried out in accordance with the Korean government's Overseas Emergency Relief Act and the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare Act. The Korean government dispatches the Korea Disaster Relief Team (KDRT) to overseas disasters caused by natural disasters such as earthquakes, typhoons, cyclone, floods, etc. to help reduce damage, restore or save lives, and provide medical relief in the affected countries. To this end, KOFIH, together with the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the National Medical Center, organizes and dispatches the KDRT Emergency Medical Team (EMT), and conducts curriculum development operations to train and strengthen the capabilities of specialized personnel.
