The Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) held a meeting on July 22, 2026, following a visit by the Office for Government Policy Coordination (OPC), to share the current status of its healthcare official development assistance (ODA) programs and discuss future policy alignment and directions for project implementation.

The meeting was attended by Jinnam Kim, Director General of the Office for International Development Cooperation at the Office for Government Policy Coordination, along with other OPC officials. Representing KOFIH were Secretary General Kwan-baek Baek and senior officials of the Foundation.

During the meeting, KOFIH introduced its major programs, including initiatives to strengthen regional healthcare systems, the Lee Jong-wook Fellowship Program, hospital management and medical equipment management system strengthening, communicable and non-communicable disease control, and health insurance policy consulting. The Foundation also shared its strategic direction for implementing healthcare ODA projects in alignment with the Government of Korea's Strategy for Development Cooperation in the Health Sector.

Participants exchanged views on ways to enhance the effectiveness of healthcare ODA by implementing projects that reflect partner countries' needs and local contexts while strengthening collaboration among relevant government agencies and institutions.

KOFIH will continue to work closely with the Office for Government Policy Coordination and other relevant ministries and partner organizations to implement healthcare ODA programs aligned with the Government of Korea's international development cooperation policy, thereby contributing to stronger health systems in partner countries.
