The Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)with Good Neighborson July 10, 2026, to strengthen cooperation in international healthcare initiatives.

The agreement aims to establish a collaborative framework in areas including global health, healthcare support for overseas Koreans, and humanitarian assistance while expanding sustainable partnerships in international healthcare.

The two organizations have been collaborating since 2025 through a healthcare support project for ethnic Koreans residing in Kyrgyzstan. Under the new agreement, they will further expand their partnership to encompass international health official development assistance (ODA) and broader international healthcare cooperation.

As the first joint initiative under the MOU, KOFIH and Good Neighbors will implement the Follow-up Treatment Support Project for Ethnic Koreans in Kyrgyzstanfrom July to December 2026. The project will provide medical expenses and essential medical supplies for approximately 200 ethnic Koreansbased on the results of health examinations. KOFIH will be responsible for recommending beneficiaries and coordinating local partnerships, while Good Neighbors will oversee beneficiary selection, referral for treatment, and project implementation.

Baek Kwan-baek, Secretary General of KOFIH, stated, "This agreement provides an opportunity to generate tangible outcomes in international healthcare cooperation by combining the expertise and field experience of both organizations. Beginning with the follow-up treatment support project in Kyrgyzstan, we will continue expanding cooperation to improve access to healthcare for overseas Koreans and other vulnerable populations."
