2025, December 11, the KOFIH Ethiopia Office hosted a conference to expand discussions on the Humanitarian, Development, and Peace Nexus (HDP Nexus) and strengthen health cooperation in the Horn of Africa. Co-hosted by the KOFIH Ethiopia Office and the KOICA Ethiopia Office, and co-organized with the WHO and EU offices, the event served as a forum for discussion on building resilient peace and health systems based on the HDP Nexus in the region. Related stakeholders, including the Ethiopian Ministry of Peace, the Somali Ministry of Health, the African Union (AU), the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and WHO Headquarters, participated in the event. Presentations and panel discussions focused on various topics, including peacebuilding practices based on community resilience and the HDP Nexus health sector framework. In particular, the KOFIH Ethiopia office strengthened its visibility as a specialized organization in the health ODA sector by presenting practical cases of the HDP Nexus health framework and its implementation within the Horn of Africa region. Following the conference, the KOFIH Ethiopia office plans to further strengthen collaboration with stakeholders, including the KOICA office, the WHO, and the EU office, by publishing a policy brief on the implementation of the HDP Nexus in the region.
