The President Ha Il-Soo of the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) held a meeting with Dr. Samuel Kaba Akoriyea, Acting Director-General of Ghana Health Service (GHS), at the ‘2025 International Development Cooperation Day’ ceremony held at the Plaza Hotel in Seoul on Tuesday, November 25.

This meeting was arranged to congratulate Acting Director Akoriyea on receiving the Diplomatic Service Medal during the ceremony's ‘Government Awards for Meritorious Service in International Development Cooperation’ and to discuss future cooperation directions in the healthcare sector.

KOFIH requested continued cooperation to ensure the stable operation of ongoing healthcare projects in Ghana and shared its commitment to close collaboration on the new emergency medical service project launching in 2026. Furthermore, the President requested active cooperation for the formative assessment scheduled for next year to design projects reflecting local needs.

In the meantime, Acting Director-General Akoriyea highly evaluated Dr LEE Jong-wook Fellowship Program, conveying that graduating fellows actively contribute to Ghana by spreading a positive work culture. He also said they have consistent alumni activities and expressed expectations for future cooperation in strengthening healthcare personnel capacity.

The Korea Foundation for International Healthcare plans to diligently implement its projects to contribute to strengthening healthcare systems and developing emergency medical systems through continuous communication and cooperation with Ghana and the partner countries.
