[KOFIH News] KOFIH and KOIHA Sign MOU to Improve Healthcare Quality and Promote Patient Safety

The Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) and the Korea Institute for Healthcare Accreditation (KOIHA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to improve healthcare quality and promote patient safety on Monday, July 7, at LEE Jong-wook Hall on the 7th floor of KOFIH. This agreement is significant as it contributes to global health promotion based on the expertise of both organizations and presents a model of cooperation between public institutions under the Ministry of Health and Welfare.


Through this agreement, the two organizations will work closely on ▲ implementing projects related to global health and evaluation and accreditation of medical institutions ▲ disseminating and spreading accreditation system domestically and globally to improve medical quality ▲ supporting domestic and international patient safety activities ▲ training to strengthen the capacity of domestic and international healthcare personnel and ▲ contributing to the spread of ESG and other mutually-agreed matters.


"Through this agreement, we can contribute to strengthening patient safety and improving the quality of healthcare organizations in developing countries and lay the foundation for global health promotion," said President Il-Soo Ha of the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare. Director Tae-yoon Oh of the Korea Institute for Healthcare Accreditation said, "This will be an opportunity to promote global healthcare services by providing sustainable processes for improving patient safety and medical quality in addition to supporting overseas medical service infrastructure", hoping that the agreement would pave the way for promoting global health.


The signing ceremony was attended by key officials from both organizations, confirming the importance of this cooperation. Through this agreement, Korea's excellent healthcare system is expected to further spread to the international community and contribute to improving the health of people around the world.
