On May 7, 2025, Dr. Liviu Vedrasco, WHO Representative to Kyrgyzstan, visited KOFIH for a meeting.

Dr. Liviu Vedrasco is a global health expert who has worked for WHO WPRO and other organizations for more than 20 years, contributing to health security and system strengthening. Like the late Dr. Lee Jong-wook, the 6th Director-General of WHO, he has been committed to health equity and strengthening public healthcare.

During the meeting, Dr. Vedrasco shared information about Kyrgyzstan's National Health Strategy (2023-2030) and WHO's priority areas of cooperation, and discussed the KOFIH's consulting project for an infectious disease simulation center and capacity building for healthcare workers in the country.

KOFIH and WHO plan to explore ways to collaborate in areas such as primary health care and digital health through future working-level consultations.
