About KOFIHOn April 11, the President Il-Soo Ha of the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare held a meeting with H.E. Togolani Mavura, Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to Korea, at KOFIH's meeting room to discuss ways to expand cooperation in the healthcare sector between the two countries.
The meeting was a follow-up to “2025 Diplomatic Roundtable” KOFIH hosted in March, during which the two sides explored a wide range of possibilities for future collaboration based on their close working relationship.
In particular, they shared the achievements of the ongoing project centered on the Muhimbili Hospital Mloganzila Campus in Tanzania and had in-depth discussions on various areas of cooperation, including medical device support, training of medical professionals, and capacity building of public hospitals.
In addition, the Tanzanian side requested medical personnel training and equipment support for the Muhimbili Hospital and Zanzibar Hospital, which are scheduled to be renovated in the future, and KOFIH agreed to examine the possibility of project linkages and explore the direction of cooperation.
In addition, they also exchanged views on mid- to long-term challenges, such as the need to establish a National Public Health Institute (NPHI) to respond to infectious diseases, strengthen disease surveillance and diagnosis capabilities, and expand health worker training.
Going forward, KOFIH plans to further strengthen its cooperation with Tanzania and continue to identify strategic projects and support for practical improvements in healthcare.
