On the morning of March 26, the Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) and the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) hosted the "2025 Diplomatic Round Table on Global Health Cooperation" at the Westin Chosun Hotel in Seoul. The meeting was attended by ambassadors from partner countries to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in Official Development Assistance (ODA) in the field of health and welfare.

The meeting brought together KOFIH, as well as key organizations in the health and welfare sector, including the National Health Insurance Service (NHIS), the National Pension Service (NPS), the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service (HIRA), the Korea Human Resource Development Institute for Health & Welfare (KOHI), the Korea Social Security Information Service (SSiS), and National Institute of the Korean Medicine Development (NIKOM).

Additionally, ambassadors and representatives from 13 countries - Algeria, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Pakistan, Paraguay, Philippines, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Uzbekistan - participated in the event to exchange views on strengthening international cooperation.

"We will use this opportunity to build stronger partnerships with our partner countries," said Dr. Il-Soo Ha, President of KOFIH. "We will also explore new and innovative approaches to cooperation in the field of ODA.“

Dr. Hye-jin Kim, Deputy Minister for Planning and Coordination at MOHW, added, "We are identifying large-scale, recipient country-tailored projects in areas where Korea has strengths while also reinforcing public-private partnerships and linkages with international organizations." She further stated, "We will work to expand strategic partnerships with each country to implement more effective and substantial ODA initiatives."
