About KOFIHThe Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) has implemented the Dr LEE Jong-wook Fellowship Program, a mid- to long-term training program for healthcare professionals in partner countries, to improve the level of their healthcare through invitational and local training and to promote international cooperation by inviting healthcare professionals.
The 2024 Lee Jong-Wook Fellowship Program Degree Course (4-year project period, total project cost of KRW 4.7 billion, medical education, nursing, and basic medicine) is entrusted by the Korea University Research and Business Foundation to provide master's degree education for 15 healthcare personnel from seven countries (Laos, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Ethiopia, Cambodia, Mongolia, and Tanzania).
On the 19th, an action plan presentation was held at the Faculty Lounge of Korea University College of Medicine to share the research and development plans of the first-year master's students. The presentation began with a welcome speech by Dr. Pyun Sung-Bom, Dean of Korea University College of Medicine, followed by congratulatory remarks from Jung Hye-jin, Director of the Lee Jong-wook Academy, and a review by Dr. Shin Nah-Mee, Dean of the College of Nursing. After the presentations, the fellows shared their experiences and encouraged each other through dinner and networking.
Through Lee Jong-wook Fellowship Program, KOFIH enables trainees to acquire professional medical competencies and contribute to the medical development of their home countries, and conducts continuous follow-up to ensure that fellows are active as experts in their respective fields after returning home.
