About KOFIH
The Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) held its New Year’s opening ceremony on January 2, 2025, and shared the values of hope and challenge with employees through New Year's messages from the President and Secretary General.
New Year's Message from President Il-Soo Ha: A Path of Hope We Create Together
Reflecting on the challenges and achievements of the past year, President Il-Soo Ha emphasized that we should not lose hope and will despite the difficult social and political situation. He recalled the history of Korea's loss of diplomatic rights 120 years ago, and recalled the history of challenges and recovery since Treaty on Basic Relations between Korea and Japan in 1965 and Korea’s independence.
He also delivered a hopeful message, saying that he believes in the strength of the Korean people, who have grown by overcoming past adversities, and that the current difficulties can be overcome by working together. He expressed his hope that all employees will work together with a positive attitude to create new achievements, and asked them to open 2025 together without losing their hopes and dreams.
New Year's Message from Secretary General Kwan-baek Baek: Prove Worth through Challenges
Secretary General Baek emphasized that the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare must remain steadfast and show the right path amidst the complex social atmosphere.
In particular, he emphasized the importance of constantly challenging ourselves to break out of stagnant situations, saying, “A ship that stays in the dock is meaningless. It is only when it goes out into the rough seas that its value as a ship is revealed.” He reiterated that development and the meaning of life cannot be found without challenges, and hoped that individuals, departments, and the entire foundation would prove their worth and achieve greater results through challenges.
Based on the messages of the President and Secretary General, the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare plans to realize the value of domestic and international healthcare development and international cooperation, and lead sustainable change in the new year. It will also continue to do its best to improve healthcare around the world with an attitude of hope and challenge.
In addition to delivering New Year’s messages, the opening ceremony included a moment of silence in honor of the victims of the Korean War and the Jeju Air passenger plane crash, the presentation of appointment certificates to those who were promoted, and the proclamation of the Charter of Ethics.
KOFIH hopes that everyone will start the new year with a fresh heart. Happy New Year!
