KOFIH will select a facility remodeling company to begin designing of the construction by visiting actual sites from October 20th to 25th. In mid-June of 2007, full-scale remodeling of hospital including in/out-door walls and electric installation will begin. The construction will be completed by mid-May.
When the construction is completed, medical equipment(worth 200,000,000 Won) including X-ray shooter, cardioverter, and ambulance will be sent. In addition, KOFIH will continue its project to provide support of future education for healthcare human resources and operations.
In Uzbekistan, healthcare issues have been critically raised due to an increase of disease including tuberculosis and AIDS after the collapse of Soviet Russia. The ratio of child population in the Central Asia is particularly high and thus an assistance is critically essential for children hospitals. There are approximately 200,000 overseas Koreans living in Uzbekistan.
