On April 23 (Tuesday), the Korea Foundation for International Healthcare signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korean Academy of Family Medicine at the Busan Port International Exhibition and Convention Center (BPEX).

The MOU is part of collaboration to strengthen primary healthcare systems in developing countries and to increase domestic and international knowledge and capacity in the field of global cooperation in health.

Through this agreement, the two organizations will strengthen mutual cooperation in the field of international development cooperation and continue joint efforts to build a sustainable healthcare system.

The main contents of the MOU include ▲ discussing current issues in the field of healthcare for international development cooperation, ▲ providing information exchange and expert advice, ▲ collaborating on mid- to long-term joint research, project evaluation, surveys, and journal publication, ▲ jointly organizing forums and planning seminars, and ▲ training and exchanging healthcare workers.

Through this collaboration, KOFIH and the KAFM are expected to strengthen primary healthcare capacity in developing countries, as well as lay the foundation for policy advice and research cooperation between partner countries.

Key officials from both organizations attended the signing ceremony and shared the significance of the cooperation, and they plan to create practical results by maintaining a close communication system and sequentially identifying and promoting cooperative projects.
